Dubai is painted as a bizarelly grotesque and beautiful landscape, and half the time appears almost surreal. One of my other favorite things is the background. By the time you get to the last few firefights, Walker is very carnal in his speech and even yells at his gun in frustration when he has to reload. Without ruining the story, I will say one of my favorite things in this game was the way the characters changed over the course of the game. The story is what sold it for me, and it did not disappoint. The gameplay, I hear, was intentionally not supposed to be fun. It was a very interesting game and I think hearing about it before playing it made a bigger difference than if I went into the game 'cold'. Defo needs a bit of work (polish) but the story & plot twist are worth experiencing. Best grenades can be found in weapons (grenade launcher) and actually are extremely powerful (huge AoE). Stun grenades you'd better throw them for lolz. The squad commands are a hit & miss thing so don't count on them. There are far to few moments when you actually use the sand and environment to your advantage. Apparently you can't hit enemy that uses turret unless you grenade him or go from the sides but when the situation is reversed you sure take a lot of damage even when crouched and shooting. This is most annoying when you're using a turret. Another thing that is really annoying about this game is that blind shooting from a cover position can get you killed. Graphics were good, mixed things up with the chopper levels, truck ones and mortar. The fact that you had a separate holster for handguns yet you could carry 2 guns regardless of what they were annoyed me. It was an above average game but mostly due to the 'war is bad m'kay' story with the plot twist at the end. I hate playing shooters (especially 3rd person) shooters where the control method is clunky unless you are using a Joypad of some description, then you loose the finesse you get from being able to use a mouse and keyboard.Are you playing with the auto-aim feature on? I read that some people didn't know that you can disable this and just play it very well with a mouse.Īt least I had 0 problems with the controls, but maybe that's because I haven't really played anything else in the same genre that's supposed to be better control-wise.

Especially being able to shoot windows out and cover the enemy in sand, but sadly this was not enough to redeem it in my opinion. Still what I did see of it, it was graphically impressive. Guess its one of those games that I never get past the first 20 mins or so. I was all set to buy enjoy this game until I played it a little from Censored Location I found out that it was a duck n cover game, and really felt like a bad console conversion due to the control methods. Last but not least, a screenshot I made (: Recommended, and hope this is of use to at least someone. I have no clue about the multiplayer, as frankly I don't care about it.ĭon't know why I wanted to write this recommendation, guess I was surprised to find a really good story in one of the genre's that's generally known to make games just for multiplayer and feeling like a badass. I can't unfortunately talk about the story.as I have the feeling every slightest detail might mess it up for you. The game might be a bit short (6 hours I clocked), but I personally don't care as the story was so well done. The ending of the story is phenomenal (great twist too). Most of the music has kind of this melancholic feel to it.

The scenes are well put together, the dialog is great, and the music.at first it's kinda weird when you're shooting people in a hotel to hear this kind of music.but somehow it fits perfectly (something like thi: ). I read some reviews that the gameplay on PC was not very well done, but to me the controls worked perfectly and I had a lot of fun while trying to find my best way out of any given situation. The lighting effects and sandstorms especially. There's probably better looking games (I really have no idea), but to me this looked beautiful. I'm not used to games with fancy graphics, but having just bought a new PC, this was the newest game I played on it, and holy hell does it look good! I just finished it 10 minutes ago, and I must say.I'm really really impressed. I'm not much of a fan of shooter games, especially when they're about the military, but the premise of a good story made me buy this game. I bought this game during the steam sales, as it promised a dark story of the horrific events that scar a man in war.
